<image:title>Testimonials - Folks want to do more than exist. Most of us want to thrive and reach our most authentic selves. The problem is getting there. When I heard that Jamila was developing her business, I asked if I could be her first client, because I know the journey will be EPIC! Jamila will not drag you along on some cookie cutter approach to life, but she will walk beside you, at your pace and in the direction you choose. Sure, Jamila is educated and has worked her tail off to get where she is…but the spirit and heart she has can’t be learned. She is a certified, genuine, eloquent, justice seeking, equity-building bad-ass, who can most certainly be my co-conspirator any day!</image:title>

<image:title>Testimonials - The reason I love working with Jamila is because her passion when working on something she loves is infectious. Her inquisitive nature aids in making sense of the complex and deeply nuanced topics we embark on regularly. Another amazing quality about Jamila is her humility, she not only contributes profound thoughts but she invites the people she is working with to share their own as well. This synergistic approach to work always produces good results as well as an intersectional perspective that has taken a deep look at things from multiple angles. Jamila is a proud black woman who is one of the most dedicated people I have ever met in regard to social justice. One can learn a lot if they listen to what she says but one can become wiser if they look at her actions and how she lives her life. Lastly, Jamila allows and encourages you to dream, any fantasy that a person may have Jamila plays an emphatic role in helping our dreams come to life. In the world we are in today, sometimes the only thing that keeps us going every day is our dreams so she makes sure that we never lose sight or lose hope in what our dreams are no matter how cynical the world makes us.</image:title>

<image:title>Testimonials - What is your full-bodied 'yes'? Jamila can help you tell your story so that you can live into your radical possibility, something you call into being through doing. She can help you step into an unknowable future with strength and confidence. She can unleash your imagination for co-creation with honesty, integrity, and heart</image:title>

      <image:title>Home Page 1 - Hi, I’m Jamila K. Gaskins, she/her - equity-minded, justice oriented, trauma-informed, coach, consultant, speaker.</image:title>
<image:caption>My life’s work is devoted to freedom and living in a way that doesn’t violate the truth of who I am, or who you are, but honors and celebrates the uniqueness of us both. As a coach, I hold space for and believe in a vision for women to live fully integrated, resilient lives. Together we clear the static and noise to hear and honor their unique, powerful voices, align with their guiding principles, and take action to claim and create a life of freedom, joy, agency, and connection. As a consultant and speaker, I partner with organizations to co-create more inclusive, equitable workplaces. I utilize a platform of storytelling, relationship building and interconnectedness to advance learning, and to celebrate and design better organizations. I believe a world of equity, justice, care, and wellbeing is possible. We must imagine it and choose it, then be intentional in how we live and work in relationship with ourselves and others.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - My job wouldn’t allow me to shift to working part-time. After the feedback from my instructor, I knew either the job or school had to go. I felt as if I was barely doing either well. In considering, the next action which felt right and aligned, my pursuit of living an integrated life meant that the only right decision for me was to devote my time and energy to my graduate studies. First, I had to save money to quit my job. The goal was to tuck away as much as possible in the seven months between my decision and the beginning of thesis writing.</image:title>

      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>And today, I continue to follow my mother’s blueprint, but I have incorporated her pillars into my vision for living a good life. I am able claim my life as my own and fully embrace myself and honor where I came from. My work with people and organizations focuses on three areas: people, principle, and practice. Are you in right relationship with yourself and others? What is your guiding or core principles? How do you practice them? After the transformational inner journey which brought me my own pillars, I knew my work was guiding others on their own path of healing and freedom.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - Oct 2016, I enrolled in Antioch University Los Angeles (AULA) Urban Sustainability Master’s program. The program grounds you in environmental science while focusing on environmental, economic, and social justice. For almost two years, I worked full-time and attended graduate school full-time. I commuted 45 minutes to work, then camped out in a conference room for night classes. I scoped out late night coffee shops close to work noting the ones with good reviews for having decent wi-fi and being excellent for studying.</image:title>

<image:title>About - In living her life to the fullest, my mother created a blueprint for my siblings and me to do the same.</image:title>
<image:caption>She taught us to: 1) Be Intellectually Curious 2) Find Our Community and, 3) Be Persistent.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - There comes a time when the pain and cost of continuing the status quo begins to outweigh the benefits. It’s at this moment you are presented a choice of resigning yourself to staying the same or committing to change. For me it was in November 2014, following the murders of John Crawford and Tamir Rice, both of which happened in my home state of Ohio. I was additionally disgusted and enraged by the language used about the victims and their communities.</image:title>

<image:title>About - As a kid I wanted to be an artist. I dreamt of dancing in the streets of New York, being on Broadway and on television. What I heard over and over was when your mother works hard to create a life for you, you do not squander it on dreams.</image:title>
<image:caption>When I was eight, after 12 years of marriage and three kids, parents divorced. My mother set on a journey reinventing herself. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, AND a 4.0 GPA. I witnessed her courage and tenacity striving to stand on her own and live a life of meaning while building a better life for us. Her perseverance and commitment inspired our surrounding community to rise up in support of our family.</image:caption>
